App and Website Privacy Policy

App Privacy Policy:

We respect your privacy, so we have ensured that both iRehearse and iRehearse Plus do not collect any personal data and do not require an Internet connection to run.

Does iRehearse or iRehearse Plus track my usage?

No. We do not use any form of analytics within the applications and do not track your usage in any way.

Does iRehearse or iRehearse Plus connect to the Internet?

The Mac App Store versions of our apps do not connect to the Internet in any way.

The only time the website purchased versions of our apps connect is if you use the 'Check for updates' menu option. This never happens automatically and can only be initiated by you clicking the menu.

When the app checks for an update, we do not store any information about that request or pass any personal information from the app to our servers. When you check for updates, the following URL is fetched (example is for iRehearse Plus): https://rjvmedia.co.uk/irpl.txt. The app then checks if its internal version number is lower than that found within the downloaded text file. That's it. We do not send or store any personal information during this check.

Website Privacy Policy:

This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

Do you use tracking or analytics on this website?

No. We do not use any form of tracking or analytics on this website beyond the server access logs that our hosting company keeps. So we do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, Adobe Analytics, HotJar or any other form of tracking.

We also host all of the libraries that we use locally, so we are not linking out to third party websites for fonts or javascript libraries.

NOTE: We do embed YouTube videos on a couple of pages, so Google will include analytics on those videos. Unfortunately we have no control over this.

What we may collect

We only collect personal information if you make a purchase through our website or fill in the contact form.

If this is the case, we may collect the following information:

  • Your name
  • Contact email address

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping of sales
  • In order to respond to an enquiry you have sent

We will never send you unsolicited email or sell your information to a third party. We will only use your email address to contact you in response to an enquiry.

If you make a purchase directly from our website, we will store your name, email address and license code in an encrypted database.

If you contact us via the online contact form, we will keep an archive of any email conversations we have had with you in order to better support you in the future. It's always useful to look back at any previous conversations we have had when dealing with a new enquiry.

If you wish us to remove your personal details from our systems, please contact us and we will delete all of your data. Please note: if we remove your license details from our systems, it will mean we can no longer retrieve your license code if you lose it.

If you purchased from the Mac App Store, we do not receive any personal information from Apple. We do not have access to your name or email address from these sales. All information is stored by Apple and we have no access to it beyond raw sales numbers. This is why we may ask for proof of purchase when dealing with support requests for App Store purchased sales.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which is placed on your computer's hard drive. It can be used to store information that is required for certain website functionality, but also can be used to track your usage across a website. Our website does not use tracking cookies, so will not set any.

The only cookie our website will set is a session cookie. This is not a tracking cookie and contains no personal data. This is required for some of the functionality on our site. For example, when you make a purchase directly from our website, the session cookie is used to hold information about what you are purchasing until you make payment. It does not contain any personal information and expires after two hours. It is purely used to hold data that we need to persist across multiple pages to enable certain website features.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This may however prevent you from performing certain functions on this website.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over the content of the third party site. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please contact us.

If you believe that any information we are holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
